Questions families ask

Who can have CAR-T cell therapy in India?

CAR-T therapies made in India are approved by the national regulator, CDSCO, for certain B-cell blood cancers that have come back or not responded to earlier treatment, such as some B-cell lymphomas and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Whether it suits you depends on your diagnosis, past treatment and current health, and only the treating haematologist can decide that.

Which reports should I send?

Your diagnosis report (biopsy or bone marrow), recent PET-CT or other scans, recent blood tests, and a list of every treatment you have had with dates. Clear phone photos are enough to start.

What about myeloma or other blood cancers?

CAR-T is not approved in India for every blood cancer. Send your reports and the team will tell you plainly whether any CAR-T option, or a different treatment, suits your case.

How long will I need to stay in India?

Usually several weeks. Cells are collected, the CAR-T cells are prepared, and after the infusion you are monitored closely, first in hospital and then staying near it. Your plan gives an estimate for your case.

How much does CAR-T cost in India?

The cost depends on the product, the hospital and how long you need to stay, so we quote only after the eligibility review. The written quote lists each part, and nothing is booked until you agree.

Can a family member come with me?

Yes, and for CAR-T a caregiver should stay with you throughout. India issues medical attendant visas for up to two family members, and we include them in the visa help.
